Collective Architecture were tree planting yesterday at North West Community Park, Dumfries ‘Planets in our Park’ project
At the centre of this vast park in Dumfries, Collective Architecture proposed to plant a grid of trees to soak up the ground water and incorporate a series of formal and informal paths that carve their way through the grid of trees. A competition was run by the local council to allow local children to select trees with special meaning to represent planets in our solar system. Yesterday 90 children from 4 local primary schools planted the planets in their park.  At the end of the day the children (and Collective Architecture!) were all given certificates for participating. The day was organised by Dumfries Neighbourhood Renewal, Dumfries and Galloway Council with help from the Forestry Commission Scotland.

The company is owned by an employee-run trust intended to reward and further involve staff in practice development. Working internationally with private and public clients, we consider all projects unique, regardless of size or budget, and capable of providing a source of identity for place, organisation or individual.
